BlackBerry to reveal 3Q fiscal result of 2015 after debut of Classic

LONDON: BlackBerry will unveil its third-quarter fiscal 2015 results at 7 a.m. on Friday.

The announcement comes two days after the debut of its newest phone, the Classic, at launch events in New York, Singapore and Frankfurt.

John Chen, CEO of the Waterloo, Ont.-based Smartphone maker, said on Wednesday that the new phone is meant to appeal to loyal business customers.

“A lot of them pulled out their BlackBerry and told me, ‘Don’t mess around with this thing. Don’t mess around with the keyboard, don’t mess around with the track pad,”‘ Chen said.

The company’s shares closed at $11.67 on the Toronto Stock Exchange Thursday, up by $0.05 or 0.43 per cent.
