Additional Collector Adjudication Imran Ch imposes Rs2.8m penalty on M/s Pak Gulf

ISLAMABAD: Additional Collector Customs Adjudication Imran Ahmed Chaudhary has penalized M/s Pak Gulf for causing loss to national exchequer through mis-declaration.

The Additional Collector Adjudication told Customs Today that the audit team observed during scrutiny of imported data of M/s Pak Gulf that the company imported its consignments of construction materials and cleared the same from dry port willfully and knowingly mis-declared the goods under inappropriate PTC Heading by evading the government revenue of Rs 2.8 million. The audit department forwarded the case for further proceedings to Additional Collector Imran Ahmed.

Additional Collector Imran Ahmed Chaudhary noted that the audit scrutiny of GD revealed that the imported goods had deliberately mis-declared in order to evade levyable duty and taxes while after detailed hearing of the case, the additional collector office found the charges established and ordered the importer M/s Pak Gulf to pay Rs 2.8 million into the government treasury.
