Faisalabad I&I releases consignment after payment of duties & taxes

FAISALABAD: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation released the consignments worth Rs 2,85,329 million after receiving an evaded amount of duties and taxes. The said consignments were intercepted during the month of December 2018.

Sources told Customs Today that the consignments released by the Customs I&I consisted of foreign origin almonds cashew worth Rs993007 and red chilli worth Rs142167. Accused Asif Mehmood paid Rs289754 duty taxes on generator 22 KVA.

The abovementioned consignments were impounded by the Customs Intelligence due to evasion of customs duty of Rs793438, Sales Tax of Rs594827, income tax of Rs371921, penalty fine Rs725143 and Redemption Fine Rs320000 during the month of December 2018.

The tax evasion detected by the team comprising Superintendent Muhammad Tahir Iqbal, Intelligence Officer Saeed Hayat, Sepoy Ajmal Hussain and Muhammad Musaddiq Ahmad.
