FAISALABAD: The extension of General Qamar Javed Bajwa as chief of army staff for three years was imperative in the current volatile situation between Pakistan and India, said Syed Zia Alumdar Hussain, President FCCI

While appreciating this decision by the Prime Minister Imran Khan, he said that General Qamar Javed Bajwa after assumption of charge as Chief of Army Staff during 2016 did remarkable achievements and successfully executed the Rad-ul-Fasad operation.

Moreover, under his command, Pakistan Army curbed the terrorists and extremists in North West Pakistan.

The role of General Bajwa in successful dialogue with Afghanistan Taliban and USA is also a feather in his cap.  He further appreciated the Pakistan Army timely response under his command to the Indian atrocities on line of control wherein India sustained loss of their soldiers and two war planes. General Bajwa served as Corps Commander during 2013-15 and had in-depth knowledge of LOC and allied areas. Keeping in view the prevailing deployment of Indian Army in Occupied Kashmir, it is a wise decision of Government of Pakistan to extend the tenure of General Qamar Javed Bajwa so he may be able to respond to any aggression from eastern border.

President FCCI further said that keeping in view the vast knowledge of General Bajwa in strategic war affairs, the Pakistan Army shall respond in befitting manners to the cold start war initiated by Indian Army. The President FCCI congratulated the Army Chief on his recent extension and expressed his whole hearted support.
