Multan I&I seizes skimmed milk powder worth Rs5.5m from Sadiqabad

MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) seized huge quantity of skimmed powder worth Rs5.5 from Sadiqabad.

According to details, Additional Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Saeed Ahmad Wattoo received credible information that huge quantity of smuggled items transported through jurisdiction. Additional Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation alerted Customs Intelligence staff in Multan and directed them to enhance monitoring of suspected routes to foil any bid of smuggling in the region.

Customs Intelligence formed special team including Inspector Mohsin Shah, Inspector Javed Bhatti, Zulfiqar and others to take action against smuggled goods. Following the directions of Additional Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation, the team intercepted a suspected truck having registration number TKM-998 near Sadiqabad Check post which was loaded with huge quantity of Skimmed Powder Milk.

Field Intelligence Unit of Sadiqabad recovered almost 11250 kilograms of skimmed milk powder Dairy Moon brand. The origin of recovered Milk was China and they were smuggled through Iran.

During investigation of Customs Intelligence driver of the truck told them that truck was coming from Quetta and its final destination was Faisalabad. Truck driver presented booking receipt of said goods to Customs Intelligence staff. Customs Intelligence unit of Sadiqabad seized the entire skimmed powder milk and shifted the skimmed powder milk along with truck to Customs Intelligence State Warehouse Rajapur Office.

Customs Intelligence seized the skimmed powder milk under Customs act 1969 and further investigations regarding the skimmed powder milk were still under process.
