The meeting approved in principle the creation of the new wing to enhance the authority’s efficiency and overall performance. Progress on the establishment of a large taxpayer unit was also reviewed, with instructions to make it operational by January 2026.

Chairman Sipra further directed the formation of additional units within the month to boost enforcement officers’ effectiveness. All commissioners were instructed to meet registration targets across 11 sectors, including hotels and restaurants, during the ongoing month.

The chairman emphasized strict action against tax defaulters, including issuing warning notices to farmhouses and sealing unregistered businesses. He stressed that collecting taxes from the public without depositing them into the government treasury constitutes a criminal offense. A daily comparative review of taxpayer growth, revenue collection, and legal cases was also ordered, along with prioritizing resolution of pending court cases and finalization of revenue collection reforms.

The meeting was attended by PRA’s Member Support Services, Member Legal, Member Audit, and other senior officials.
