About 135 expensive mobile phones & accessories seized at AIIA

LAHORE: The customs officials have confiscated about 135 mobile phones of costly brands and mobile accessories from a passenger travelling by a flight of Kuwait Airways to Lahore during a raid on Allama Iqbal International Airport.

Senior Customs Officer Collector Naveed-ul-Rehman Bhagvi reached Lahore airport without any information. He checked the clearance procedure at airport performed by Pakistan customs. During his presence at the airport, an unknown man, coming from Kuwait, left his luggage at the belt feeling a fear of being caught by the authorities.

The customs team checked the bag and found 135 mobile phones of different brands and models. Mobile phones recovered from the bag valued more than one million rupees.

The customs has also written a letter to the Federal Investigation Agency to get the record of the passenger. Mobile accessories and other goods were also recovered from the passenger.

Sources told Customs Today that the officer conducted operations in different flights coming from different countries to Allama Iqbal international airport Lahore. The customs has also confiscated one LED of 36 inches from the luggage of a passenger.

All the items were found during a tight and active vigilance of the customs staff at Lahore airport. The customs has started checking all the passengers before Eid.
