MULTAN: The Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Multan has concluded 24 various seizure cases worth Rs99.043million during the month of February.
Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Saima Ayyaz has decided as many as 11 seizures framed by the Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) and Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation in February. These cases were related to the evasion of customs duty to the tune of Rs2.8million. Almost 25 fresh seizure cases involving Rs6.612million were added in the court of Deputy Collector Customs Adjudication for their legal trials during the month of February 2017-18.
Additional Collector Customs Adjudication Talib Hussain has decided 10 different seizure cases after the completion of their trials involving Rs20.550million during the month of February. Additional Collector decided majority of the non-customs-paid vehicles impounded by the Anti-Smuggling Organization and Field Intelligence Unit in their operations.
Almost 10 new seizure cases have been added in the court of Additional Collector Talib Hussain for their proceedings during the period of February 2017-18. The Additional Collector has got more cases than anyone in the collectorate of Customs Adjudication.
Collector Customs Adjudication Asif Khan Buzdar has decided three seizure cases which involved tax evasion of Rs75.682million after the conclusion of their trials in February. The Customs Adjudication Collector has added one new case worth Rs202.435million of High Speed Diesel seized by the Anti-Smuggling Organization in the month of February.
All the 24 seizure cases were settled in favour of the Customs Department during the month of February. Almost 61 seizures involving revenue of Rs357.912million are still under adjudication at the Customs Adjudication in the month of March.
