ACE registers corruption cases against 15 officials of Excise ‏Dept

MULTAN: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has lodged a corruption case against 15 officials of the Excise and Taxation Department.

Excise and Taxation Director Siraaj Ahmad, including ETO Fakhar Zaman,Waqar Kiyani, Inspector Azhar Khurshid, Najam Saqib, Sabir Nawaz, Akhtar Muneer, Aslam Niazi , Jameel Sipra and others have been nominated in corruption charges by the Anti-Corruption Establishment on a petition moved by Punjab Excise Secretary Dr Bilal.

The nominated employees have registered those vehicles in series of MNA and MNB of 1960 and 1970 which were cancelled by the authorities on their fake verification and they have also done their fake registration of new vehicles on the old series. Employees have also not submitted token taxes in the government accounts by issuing fake receipts to the owners of the vehicles.

The Secretary Excise has already suspended these employees for investigations and departmental inquiry is also underway against them for further action .

The Anti-Corruption Establishment has arrested four employees of the Excise and Taxation Multan which include Malik Altaf, Aslam Niazi, Jamil Sipra and Hassan Khan Sadozai after lodging of complaint against them. Most of the accused are also office  bearers of APCA in this cases. Remaining accused will be arrested very soon.

Raids are being carried out from ACE to arrest remaining culprits in the embezzlement of millions of rupees by the Excise and Taxation Department Multan.
