FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Beelam-ur-Ramzan has issued a show cause notice to a suspect in non-duty paid old and used machinery case involving Rs 1.163 million.
As per details, Faisalabad Customs Intelligence and Investigation confiscated old and used machinery which was being transported from Sargodha to Faisalabad.
The team asked the owner named Muhammad Saeed to show documents regarding legal import of the goods but he could not produce the same.
Therefore, the officials seized the goods under customs laws and forwarded case to Customs Adjudication for further legal action.
Now, Additional Collector Beelam issued notice to the accused person on the violation of Section 10-A. 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act, 1969. Act 1950 punishable under section 156(1)89 of the custom Act, 1969 and called upon him to show cause as to why confiscated items are not fell under aforementioned provisions of the law.
However, the adjudication has directed the accused to file reply on next date of hearing i.e. October 10, 2016. The seizing agency has also been directed to file reply in the respective case.
The adjudication authority also directed Customs Intelligence Deputy Director Muhammad Riaz Hussain to attend the hearing on schedule date along with relevant record.
