Additional Collector Beelam hears 14 cases filed by four cities’ Import & DTREs

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Beelamur Ramzan heard 14 cases of smuggling, involving millions of rupees, field by the Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO), Faisalabad, Mianwali, Sargodha and Jhang’s Import and DTRE branches.

The Faisalabad ASO registered three cases of smuggling against the accused persons. A case was registered against Zareen Khan, allegedly involved in bringing imported Milano cigarettes worth Rs1331593 into country without payment of duty and taxes while another case was filed against an unclaimed person, allegedly involved in smuggling of imported Toyota Mark X car worth Rs2650000. The ASO also forwarded a case of another unclaimed person, allegedly involved in smuggling of cigarette lighters and different brands’ cigarettes worth Rs2451305 to the Customs Adjudication.

Furthermore, the adjudication heard three cases which were submitted by Mianwali ASO, including a case of used Hino truck against one Ahmad. The appeals were sent back from Lahore Tribunal. Yet another case of cloth and miscellaneous goods worth Rs1480087 was heard against one Amer Khan. The ASO forward a case against Jehanzaib Khan, allegedly involved in a case of Toyota Hilux surf worth Rs1316109 which was brought into country without payment of customs duty and taxes.

Additional Collector Beelamur Ramzan heard two other cases submitted by Sargodha ASO against Qaleem Raza, allegedly involved in smuggling of Toyota Land Cruiser worth Rs1311360 and a case of used Hino truck worth Rs2884320 was also heard against Muhammad Saleem.

The Faisalabad Customs, Import Branch, sent two other cases to the adjudication for legal action. The cases are against two companies named M/s W.A International and M/s Batalvi Enterprises which brought a consignment of self-adhesive sticker papers and pliers on fake documents.

The Faisalabad Customs, DTRE Branch, forwarded one case of smuggling to Customs Adjudication, involving duty and taxes, against M/s Pak Kono, M/S Asma Enterprises, M/s Al Hamdo Lillah, M/s Orient Coating and Finishing.

The additional collector adjourned hearings of some cases until next hearing.
