Additional Collector Abdul Waheed Abro to probe allegations of bribery against Customs inspector

SIALKOT: Customs Collector Ahmad Reza Khan has appointed Additional Collector Abdul Waheed Abro as new inquiry officer to probe allegations of bribery against Inspector Tariq Samma.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Ahmad Reza Khan has directed Abro to finalize the inquiry within two week and submit report to him.

As per detail, Union Council Chairman Asif Munir, also an office-bearer of the  Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, claimed that his wife, daughter, son-in-law and their children were going to Kuwait in April 2015 via Sialkot airport . During the process of luggage checking, Inspector Tariq Samma informed his daughter that her jewellery was overweight than the set weight limit and he got a huge bribe from her.

Earlier, Collector Zulifqar Chaudhry had appointed Assistant Collector Zahid Bashir Caoudhary as the inquiry officer but he failed to finalize the complaint despite passage of one year.
