Additional Collector Beelam issues notice to suspect involved in non-duty paid vehicle case

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Beelam-ur-Ramzan has issued show cause notice to suspect allegedly involved in smuggling of used Toyota Hilux Surf.

Faisalabad Customs Intelligence impounded used Toyota Hilux  Surf bearing registration no AJKF 8137 during an intelligence-based operation near Sargodha Road Faisalabad.

During the checking of vehicles, the Customs Intelligence team intercepted the vehicle and its owner introduced himself as Mohammad Yousaf .

On demand of the Customs team, Mohammad Yousaf failed to produced documents regarding the legal import of the vehicle. The customs intelligence officials impounded the vehicle and forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication.

The Customs Adjudication issued notices to accused person on the violation of Section 10-A. 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act, 1969. However, the adjudication has directed the accused to file  reply by given time.  The cases of vehicle might be decided in the next hearing.
