The ASO team impounded the vehicle and registered case under Section 2(s) and 16 of Customs Act 1969. The ASO team sent the vehicle for forensic test of chassis. The report verified that the chassis number is not original. The ASO officials forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication for further proceeding.

Sources told that during first hearing Muhammad Yousaf Siddiqi appeared before Customs Adjudication to defend the case from respondent side. He was asked to provide verification of record but no record was produced by him. During second hearing Inspector Amir Ali appeared from the prosecution side and asserted that the impounded vehicle is non-duty paid and PRAL showed no record of the impounded vehicle which strengthens the case of the department.

After hearing the both sides, Additional Collector Beelam issued ONO in favor of ASO and ordered to impound the vehicle under Section 156(1) 89(i) of the Customs Act read with clause (a) of the preamble of SRO 499(1)/2009.
