Additional Collector Rashid Habib directs to seize Toyota Mark II

ISLAMABAD: Additional Collector Adjudication Rashid Habib has issued Order-in-Original No. 41 and directed to seize Toyota Corolla Mark-II model 2001 which was sold by Afghan Consulate-General Peshawar to a Pakistani citizen Syed Hamza Rizvi.

Sources informed Customs Today that above said vehicle was sold to Syed Hamza Rizvi without getting sale permission letter and the Customs NOC. Sources said that Toyota Mark II was seized by the Customs authorities upon a tip-off in H-9 sector of Islamabad.

Driver of the vehicle provided documents related to diplomatic vehicle no. Cc-01-53 and GDs No ptor-HC-8087 which shows that the vehicle belong to third secretary of Aghan Consulate Abdul Bashir Wahidi. Pakistani foreign office officials also confirmed that the vehicle is owned by Afghan diplomat who already left Pakistan and sold this vehicle to a Pakistani citizen illegally. Afghan diplomat used his diplomaic immunity illegally.

Sources said that now Customs Adjudication issued final show cause notice to owner of the vehicle directing him to appear, but during last four hearing he failed to appear even in single hearing. Keeping in view all this situation Additional Collector directed authorities to seize vehicle in favour of federation.
