Adjudication Addl. Collector Beelam fines a company for misusing SRO

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Beelam Ramazan imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on M/s Chaudhary Fabrics for misusing the facility of SRO 450(1) along with the warning to be careful in future.

As per details, Faisalabad Customs Dry Port’ Bond Section deputy collector in pursuance of information scrutinised the record of the company and also visited the company in order to verify the stock of imported input goods.

The officials found it involved in tax evasion to the tune of Rs 1.511 million involving Rs 472624 customs duty, Rs 494909 sales tax, Rs 185706 income tax and Rs 358537 another tax. Later, the case was forwarded to the adjudication.

The accused company following the tax evasion charges paid the amount detected by the customs officials and submitted the proof of payments before the adjudication.

While hearing the case, the adjudication additional collector issued Order-in-Original (ONO) and imposed fine over the company for evading taxes.
