Adjudication-I imposes penalty of Rs 210,000 on M/s Aslam Traders

KARACHI: The Collectorate of Adjudication-I issued show cause notice to M/s Aslam Traders. The company availed undue benefits and concessions through SRO 651.

According to details, M/s Aslam Traders imported a consignments of raw material which were used in manufacturing of microwave ovens during the month of May. During scrutiny of the import data, it was revealed by the authorities that company evaded taxes and duties amounting to Rs 1.6 million.

After detecting the tax evasion Post Clearance Audit department forwarded the contravention report to Adjudication department who issued a show cause to notice to M/s Aslam Traders. In the show cause Aducuation-I authorities asked the company to clear short payment and evaded taxes alongwith penalty of Rs2,10,000 within seven working days failing which ex-parate proceedings will be initiated against the above said company.

The Adjudication department is disposing of tax evasion and short payment cases on priority basis as current fiscal year is going to end.
