Adjudication-I recovers Rs5.47m from M/s Sajid Granite & Export

KARACHI: Customs Adjudication-I , served a final notice on a defaulter company named M/s  Zari Associates Hyderabad, and recovered Rs 5.47 million from M/s Sajid Granite and Export Karachi.

Sources told Customs Today that M/s Zari Associates Hyderabad was allegedly involved in tax evasion. The company imported different types of aluminum sheets and role on August 17, 2017 by the examiner Saleem Ahmed and used the wrong PCT heading.

After a careful investigation, the Customs Adjudication-I issued a final notice to M/s Zari Associates on April 25 directing the company to clear the outstanding amount of Rs4.17 million within seven days.

Source told another company M/s Sajid Granite and export Karachi got cleared a consignment of  various kinds of black tiles, Marble show piece include (animals, pot, ashtrays and flower vase on November, 2017 and evaded a tax amount of Rs 5.47 million.

After the investigation, the Customs Adjudication-I served a show cause notice on the company on March 19, 2018 but it failed to clear the tax amount.

The Collector Customs Adjudication-I issued a final notice to the company on April 6 2018. After receiving the notice, the company deposited Rs5.47 million in favor of the Customs department on 25 April.
