KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has restrained the Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) from blacklisting M/s Inverex Power Solutions till further orders.

A division bench of SHC gave this restraining order on the petition filed by M/s Inverex Power Solution against AEDB’s decision to blacklist it for allegedly submitting fake letter claiming exemption from customs duty on import of solar inverters.

The court directed the AEDB’s chairman, director solar and others to file their comments on the petition till November 03.

Advocate Ghulam Hyder Shaikh submitted that his client had imported solar inverters and submitted eight letters issued by AEDB for duty exemption to collector of customs Appraisement East. When the customs authorities sent these letters to AEDB for verification, it was alleged that one letter is fake.

The counsel said that alleged fake letter is not mandatory requirement and has nothing to do with the exemption. He refuted the allegations of submitting fake letter and said instead of conducting inquiry, AEDB has threatened to blacklist the company.

The court was pleaded to restrain AEDB from blacklisting the petitioner company or taking any other adverse action against it.
