Affluent classes to be brought into tax-net: Shahbaz Sharif

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Friday said that affluent classes would have to be brought into tax-net for strengthening national economy and progress of the country.

He was addressing a function regarding second balloting for Amanat Scheme under restaurant invoice monitoring system of Punjab Revenue Authority at Model Town, here.

He said that it was time to promote tax culture and the Punjab government had introduced a unique Amanat Scheme in the province for this purpose. He said that provincial government had introduced restaurant invoice monitoring system for tax collection.

He said that under this system, taxpayers were being given prizes of billions of rupees through transparent balloting. He said that big decisions had to be taken for achieving self-sufficiency and the nations were not built through mere slogans.

Shahbaz Sharif said that such nations were destroyed of which the persons who could afford to pay taxes get their loans written off.
