OTTAWA: An air travel bargain hunter says he will fight Air Canada for backing out of an unbelievable online deal that the company is blaming on a computer glitch.
Adarsh Pallian snatched up a bundle of the Air Canada business-class flight passes for the western U.S. and Canada that he saw on sale in a Facebook group post.
The frequent flyer could not believe he only paid $837 for each pass usually worth more than $8,000.
“I got 10 tickets for about one-tenth of the price… of the full price,” said Pallian.
He is angry Air Canada has since cancelled the tickets, claiming the bargain pricing on business class was no more than a computer glitch.
Air Canada said it is contacting buyers to apologize and refund the passes, but a lucky few get to keep their loot.
The company will honour any bookings already secured.
Pallian said that is not fair and he is not letting this deal go without a fight.
“I’m going to send them an email and try calling them. I’m not going to let this sit. I’m going to try to see if I can negotiate some sort of compensation,” said Pallian.
