The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) had specific information about the group and they passed the information to the AIU officials. The AIU has intercepted the three after they crossed the immigration counter on early Friday. The three were traveling only with handbags.

The AIU officials didn’t find anything with them during their person search. Officials inquired the three about their involvement in the smuggling activities and found their reply suspicious. During sustained interrogation, Mohsin Khan, Shanawz Khan, and Ahmed Nagree had confessed that they had concealed foreign currency into their rectums. The officials convinced the three to remove the money and booked them in a case.

The three carriers told the officials about their handler who had given them the money with instruction to deliver it to a person at the Dubai. Officials suspect that the money was meant to purchase gold in Dubai and smuggling it into India. Stay updated on the go with Times of India News App. Click here to download it for your device.
