ALGIERS: More than 5,700 smuggled mobile phones were seized Monday, by a detachment of the People’s National Army (ANP), coming under the operational sectors of Biskra and Al Oued said, Wednesday, the Ministry of National Defence in a communiqué.
“As part of the fight against organized crime, detachments of the People’s National Army, coming under the operational sectors of Biskra and Al Oued (4th military region) seized, 14 December 2015, a (01) truck, two (02) all-terrain vehicles, 5775 mobile phones, electronic accessories and equipments as well as 13331 units of various drinks and 1600 litres of fuel,” added the same source.
“Furthermore, and at the level of the 2nd military region, units of the border guards of Tlemcen foiled an attempt to smuggle a quantity of fuel amounting to 9790 litres aboard 4 vehicles, as well as 183 sheep,” added the statement.
“These continual operations of the People’s National Army reflect the ANPS’s constant determination, more than ever, to face organized crime and all threats to national security,” concluded the Ministry of National Defence.
