All dry ports will remain open on Saturday, says Chief Collector Samaira Nazir

LAHORE: Chief Collector of Customs Central Region Samaira Nazir has said that all the dry ports under Central Region will remain open on Saturday for clearance of goods and the business will continue as usual.

Talking to Customs Today, the chief collector said that all the dry ports, including Lahore dry port Mughalpura, NLC Tohkar Niaz Baig , Prem Nagar, Multan and Faisalabad dry ports, will be working as usual so the businessmen could get their consignment cleared on Saturday. She added that due to the Eidul Azha a misunderstanding has taken place among the stakeholders.

She said that each one day is precious for the revenue collection and clearance of the consignments are also equally important.

She clarified that the Customs officers and staff from top to bottom would be on their duties beyond any doubt and nobody should be misled that the Saturday would be off ahead of the Eid-ul- Azha.

All the collectors have been directed to ensure full day working as in routine similar to that of the other dry port of the country, she added, saying that cent percent attendance would be ensured by the collectors of all collectorates.
