FBR set to achieve Rs 750m target in Aug from various Punjab cities

SIALKOT: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has set a tax recovery target of Rs 750 million for the Regional Income Tax Directorate Gujranwala for August, 2014.

A senior FBR official told the Customs Today that Regional Income Tax Directorate Gujranwala have to collect Rs 400 million income tax and Rs 350 million sales tax to achieve the target. The tax will be recovered from defaulters of Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad and Gujranwala district till August 31, 2014.

The official said that Regional Income Tax Directorate Gujranwala has issued the tax recovery notices to 55 steal mils owners to pay the tax worth Rs 150 million before August 31, 2014. The Directorate also issued notices to GEPCO and an international branded beverage company for the recovery of tax before the due date.

Moreover, the Regional Income Tax Directorate Gujranwala has also established 13 special recovery teams which have started issuance of final recovery notices to all tax defaulters in the region.
