LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has sent an accused of cell phones smuggling to jail on judicial remand.
According to the details, accused Muhammad Waris was booked by the customs officials at Allama Iqbal International Airport when he was trying to smuggle cell phones into Pakistan from Sharjah.
The customs officials during checking the luggage of the passenger at Lahore airport recovered a number of mobile phones of different models.
Meanwhile, the customs high ups have strictly directed the subordinate staff to take stern action against smugglers; especially those are using green channels for clearance of smuggled items.
