ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested 15 drug peddlers, besides seizing 128kg drugs valued at Rs 296 million in different operations.
According to the details, the ANF has seized 3kg heroin, 21kg opium, and 104 Kg charas in 11 operations conducted across the country.
ANF arrested Muhammad Shehbaz, resident of Khushab, who confessed of gulping heroin filled capsules. The accused was boarding for Riyadh via Muscat by Oman Airline Flight No. WY-0348.
While in another operation, ANF following credible information intercepted a vehicle bearing Registration No. LPT-1454 near Committee Chowk, Rawalpindi and recovered 2Kg charas from the persons on board. Two accused identified as Rizwan Aslam and Arsalam Khan, both resident of Rawalpindi were arrested. As per reports, they were involved in supply of drugs at local level. A local drug peddler namely Muhammad Adil was also arrested and 1200 grams charas was recovered from his possession.
ANF apprehended a passenger Siraj from Benazir Bhutto International Airport on suspicion of ingested heroin filled capsules. During interrogation, the Kohistan based accused confessed of having heroin filled capsules in his belly. The accused was boarding for Dubai by flight No NL-221.
