ANF confiscates 500 grams heroin at Lahore airport

LAHORE: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized 500 kg heroin at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore on Wednesday.

The ANF personnel confirmed that a person from Sargodha intended to travel to Copenhagen on an international airline.

During the checking of the luggage the Personnel deployed at the airport discovered half kg heroin in the luggage of the passenger identified by Iftikhar Qayum. The ANF officials said that the value of sized heroin is Rs5 m in international market.

After finding the contraband, person, Iftikhar Qayum was arrested by ANF. He was travelling via international airline for Copenhagen. ANF has shifted the accused at unknown place for further legal investigation. ANF has also installed a scanner machine at Lahore airport to stop smuggling of any kind of narcotics.
