ANF foils attempt to smuggle heroin at Lahore airport

LAHORE: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has foiled an attempt to smuggle over 2 kg heroin to Italy from the Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore on Friday.

The ANF personnel confirmed that a family from Lala Musa, Gujrat, intended to travel to Italy via Doha on an international airline. Four members of the family and three civil aviation personnel were arrested.

During the checking of the luggage the Personnel deployed at the airport discovered 2kg heroin in the luggage of the family. The ANF officials said that the value of sized heroin is Rs20m (approximately $190,000) in the international market.

After finding the contraband, head of the family Maroof Hussain, his wife and two little daughters were detained by ANF personnel along with three civil aviation employees, include two porters and one electrician.
