KARACHI: Quetta Customs Collectorate has seized a huge quantity of Iranian diesel and narcotics during two successful raids while four men were arrested.
Deputy Collector Jahanzaib Abbasi received information that a huge quantity of non-duty paid oil was smuggled out of city. Consequently, he informed the informed the anti-smuggling team about the received information and instructed them to curb the smuggling. The anti-smuggling team included Inspector Murad Ali Shah, Inspector Aftab Khan and others.
The team raided established check points at the back side of Bara Market and started the checking of vehicles. During the checking of vehicles the ant-smuggling squad halted a suspicion oil tanker. During the checking of the oil tanker the team recovered 36,000 litres Iranian diesel. The customs officials asked the driver about customs clearance but he remained failed to provide any related documents. The customs officials seized the oil while two persons were arrested during action.
In another action, On the specials instructions of the deputy collector the anti-smuggling squad raided at a warehouse located in the area of Bostan. During the searching of the warehouse the team found 100kg Charas, 500 Kg heroin. The customs officials seized the narcotics while no one present at the time of action. The customs officials said that the value of seized narcotics is more than Rs10 million.
