ANF Peshawar seizes 1,750kg charas, 500g heroin worth Rs1,757m

ISLAMABAD: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized 1.75-ton charas and 500-gram heroin worth Rs1,757 million in three different operations carried out in Haripur and Peshawar and arrested two  drug smugglers and confiscated.

According to details, ANF Peshawar on a tipoff intercepted a Bedford Truck No 4749 at Kohat Road, near Kohat Bridge and recovered 1,750kg charas. Drugs were packed in 70 plastic bags, each containing 25kg Charas, which were concealed under the layer of sand. The driver of the vehicle succeeded to escape from the scene taking advantage of the darkness and fog. As per reports, the drug was being transported from Afghanistan through Jamrud Road Peshawar and was to be smuggled to Karachi via Dera Islmail Khan.

ANF Peshawar on search of a passenger Toyota Hiace No C-4068 near Haji Camp bus stand and arrested a passenger namely Muhammad Ejaz r/o Mangora along with 3.6kg charas, kept in a shopping bag and was concealed beneath the seat of the vehicle. According to information, the accused was transporting the drugs to Swat.

An ANF team, during an operation in Haripur City, arrested an accused Khalil Khan and recovered 500 grams heroin concealed in his shoes. As per investigations, the accused came from Peshawar to Haripur for delivery of drug to a local peddler.

All the cases have been registered in the ANF police stations and further investigations are under process.
