Announcement of new trade policy still in doldrums

ISLAMABAD: Announcement of new trade policy is still awaited, as the same is still have to be presented in cabinet meeting for approval.

According to sources,  the new trade policy will be for the period of three years as this policy was to be presented in cabinet meeting in July but due to some reasons its presentation is still delayed

Sources also disclosed that there was 40 to 50 billion target was suggested in the trade policy while suggestions for the up-gradation of technology and research and development sector is also on the card.

Sources further added that the new trade policy will be presented in the cabinet after approval of the authorities concerned, then Prime Minister gives final approval to trade policy.
