SIALKOT: As many as 0.2 million owners of the motorcycles had been deprived of the computerized registration number plates for the last three consecutive years despite the payment of these number plates, in Gujranwala Division’s all the six districts, including Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahaud Din and Hafizabad.
They still had been waiting for the registration number plates at their homes as promised by the Director General of Excise & Taxation Punjab for the last three consecutive years.
In July 2007 (eight years ago) all the official record of the Motor Registration Branches across Punjab had been computerized by fixing Rs 400 fees per computerized number plate for motorcycle and Rs 1000 registration fees per computerized number plate for cars and buses, in this regard.
The concerned Excise and Taxation officials including Rana Gulzar Ahmed said that the people, who had paid the computerized registration number plates, now will have to re-deposit their fees for getting the new computerized registration number plates as well.
