LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Anti-Narcotics awarded 10-year imprisonment to a man in drug smuggling case.
According to details, convict Asghar Ali was arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Force at the Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore red-handed when he was trying to smuggle heroin to Dubai.
While checking the luggage of Asghar Ali on suspicion, ANF recovered seven kilogrammes of heroin worth millions of rupees from his possession and booked him.
After interrogation, the ANF presented him before the court, and this case was in process since 2014.
Now, the Special Federal Court of Anti-Narcotics has sent Asghar Ali to jail for 10 years and also imposed a penalty of Rs 100,000. In case he does not pay the amount of the penalty, the imprisonment will be enhanced to another year.
