Appraisement East collects near Rs14b during May

KARACHI: The Customs Collectorate of Appraisement East collected Rs13991.66 million of customs duty, sales tax, income tax and federal exercise duty (FED) during the month of May.

Sources told Customs Today that Appraisement East received Rs 6754.29 million under the head of customs duty, Rs 3954.87 million as sales tax, Rs 3248.69 million as income tax and Rs 33.81 million under the head of federal excise duty (FED) during the corresponding month.

Sources said that Appraisement East collected Rs 4760.77 million of customs duty, sales tax, income tax and federal exercise duty during first eight days of May, which include Rs 2847 million under the head of customs duty, Rs 1265.24 million as sales tax, Rs 998.24 million as income tax and Rs 10.29 million of federal excise duty (FED) during first week of May.

Sources said that during the month of April, Customs Collectorate of Appraisement East showed outstanding performance and collected Rs 10158.74 million (Rs10.16 billion) of revenue.
