Appraisement-West collects Rs 24.6b in April 2016

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement-West collected Rs 24.645 billion in wake of duty/taxes during outgoing month April 2016.

Sources told Customs Today that the Appraisement-West collected Rs 9.061 billion under the head of customs duty, Rs 10.996 billion under the head of sales tax, Rs 4.415 million as income tax and Rs 174 million under the head of federal excise duty (FED).

Significantly, it collected Rs 1.270 billion on the last working day i.e. April 30, 2016 that included Rs 481 million under the head of customs duty; Rs 554 million under head of sales tax; Rs 225 million as income tax and Rs 11 million as FED.

Overall, the Appraisement-West collected Rs 222.322 billion taxes and duties since July 1 to April 30, 2016 that included Rs 84.322 billion under head of customs duty; Rs 98.425 billion as sales tax; Rs 37.914 billion as income tax and Rs 1.661 million under head of FED.
