ASO constable injured during encounter ‏

MULTAN: An Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) constable was injured while chasing a smuggler in Khanewal

According to details, Anti-Smuggling Organization staff was performing their routine duties near Khanewal road. Customs staff was monitoring the movements of goods and vehicles near Chowk Maitla.

Suddenly a suspected Toyota Corolla vehicle was moving on the road and staff caution the driver of the vehicle to stop for examination of documents. The Toyota vehicle driver rushed the car by ignoring the clear directions of the Anti-smuggling Organization staff deputed at the road for checking.

Anti-Smuggling Organization constable tried to block the Toyota vehicle for checking on the road near Chowk Maitla but the suspected smuggler hit the car in the legs of the constable Akhtar Sukhera, causing a fracture in the leg. The suspected smuggler of the vehicle, who was driving the car, fled away from the scene.

Anti-Smuggling Organization staff tried to chase the smuggled Toyota Vehicle  and smuggler also opened fire in air during chasing to give message to Anti-smuggling Organization staff to stay away from them.

Anti-Smuggling Organization chased them but the smuggler was disappeared from the scene during chasing and it might gone through some hidden routes of the villages to defend them from Anti-Smuggler staff.

Anti –Smuggling Organization contacted local police for the assistance to tackle but their effort gone in vain due to late response from police.

Meanwhile, the Anti-smuggling Organization staff noted the registration number of Toyota Vehicle which was found fake according to available records. Anti-Smuggling Organization rescued the injured constable after taking him to the hospital where doctors confirmed fracture of ankle after the X-ray of injured constable.
