ASO foils bid to smuggle Chinese liquor

ISLAMABAD: Model Customs Collectorate Anti-Smuggling Force has foiled an attempt to smuggle Chinese liquor to Pakistan at Customs Station Sost and arrested the accused on the spot.

According to details, during the searching process of a passenger namely Tang Douguo who is a Chinese citizen bearing passport no. E-04281612 arrived from China by passenger’s bus.

The thorough examination of the above said passenger led to the recovery of 14 bottles of Chinese liquor each containing 500ml of alcohol.

The Chinese national failed to produced any evidence regarding possession of legal import. Therefore the same goods was seized the offence is punishable under section 156(i)(70), 157 of the customs act 1969 and arrested the accused on the spot.
