ASO Hyderabad seizes smuggled LED, DVD worth Rs 2.7m

HYDERABAD: ANTI-Smuggling Organization (ASO)  seized smuggled 82  LEDs,20  DVDs worth Rs 2.7 million during an operation in Hyderabad

Sources told Customs Today  that Model Customs Collectorate  Hyderabad   Additional  Collector  Omar Shafiq received credible information regarding smuggling of above said item upon which he constituted a raiding team under the supervision of deputy superintendent Syed Saleem Shah.

The ASO team intercepted a vehicle at Waqar Karim Goods Transport Company near Bakramandi and recovered smuggled foreign origin LEDs and DVDs.

The ASO team asked the driver of the vehicle to produce legal documents regarding import and possession of DVDs and LEDs but he failed to provide any documents in this regard. After his failure ASO team seized the electronics goods and registered a case against the driver.
