ASO impounds a Hino Truck loaded with contraband items

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) of Customs Collectorate has impounded an offending vehicle and contraband items worth Rs 2.626 million.

Customs officials told Customs Today that in pursuance of information of the collector office, an ASO team intercepted a Hino truck No GITB-1788 which was coming from Peshawar on on GT Road.

During the checking of the truck, the ASO team found smuggled items. The customs officials asked the driver about the customs clearance documents but he remained failed.  Therefore, the ASO team impounded the truck with loaded items under Custom Act of 147. Officials said that the value of the offending vehicle is Rs 2.5 million.

Sources adding details of seized goods as Powder hallow punch in quantity of 14 kg worth Rs1470, Artificial beats in quantity of 120 kg under value of Rs9072, Dennison Eremites chemical in quantity of 360 Kg in worth of Rs56700 and also seized Dish pro HD recorder 56Nos in tune of 58800.
