ASO impounds Land Cruiser, industrial generator

LAHORE: The Customs Preventive’s Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) has seized smuggled generator, besides impounding a Land Cruiser.

Sources told Customs Today that on the information of Customs Preventive Collector Zulfiqar Younis, the ASO seized a generator, which is used in industrial units near Sheranwala Gate. The Sources said that a man namely Akmal brought the generator for its overhauling in Lahore.

In another operation, the ASO team impounded a Land Cruiser near Badami Bagh. Sources said that the vehicle was allegedly owned by a suspect, Aslam, a resident of Ghari Shahu. The vehicle was non-customs paid and had fake number plate. The total value of the vehicle is determined at Rs 4 million.

The sources said that the customs authorities have registered a case have initiated investigations.
