ASO impounds polyester thread, trucks‏

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized foreign origin polyester thread and two non-duty paid trucks.

Sources informed Customs Today an ASO team under the supervision of superintendent Saeed Joyia thwarted many attempts of smuggling. During a routine checking, the ASO team intercepted two vehicles bearing registration No. LES-13-7090 and No. LES-15-736 near Samana Pul Sargodha Road and recovered smuggled polyester thread.

The driver of the trucks who were identified as Muhammad Asif Shezad son of Abdul  Latif Bhatti and Muhammad Amir. The suspects submitted documents on behalf of M/s SAS Impex, Akhtar Trading Company Karachi (owner) vide GDs No. KCSI-HC-4148 and No. KAPW-HC-153292. However, the goods were physically examined in the light of GDs numbers which did not match the seized goods.

The ASO team seized the goods and forwarded the case to the customs adjudication for further proceedings.
