ASO Islamabad impounds 15 vehicles, goods valued at Rs30m during first week of Dec.

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization Islamabad took into possession 15 vehicles along with various smuggling items worth over Rs30.00million during the 1st week of December Fiscal Year 2017-18.

Majid Hussain Gadd, Assistan Collector Preventive Division Islamabad, told Customs Today that the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Islamabad impounded 13 offending vehicles (vehicles used for carrying smuggling goods) valued at Rs13.60million whereas it impounded two Non-Duty-Paid vehicles worth Rs7.7million.
Majid Hussain Gadd told CT that, during above said period, the collectorate seized 4,084 yards of smuggling foreign origin fabric priced at Rs1.86million while the ASO Islamabad confiscated 540 kilogram of smuggling tea worth Rs0.171million. The ASO Islamabad took into possession Rs1,349 kilogram of foreign origin auto-parts valued at Rs0.345million.
Majid Hussain Gadd informed CT that, during the first week of December FY17-18, the ASO seized 1,476 kilogram of alloy rims worth Rs0.260million whereas it did various other smuggling goods valued at Rs9.18million. During the first week of December FY17-18, the ASO impounded smuggling items and two NDP vehicles priced at Rs21.33million while the ASO Islamabad did offending vehicles worth Rs13.60million.
Assistant Collector Islamabad Customs further told correspondent that the collectorate took into possession items and vehicles during the first week of December FY17-18 valued at Rs34.93million.
