QUETTA: On the direction of Tariq Pasha, Chairman Federal Board of Revenue regarding the Iranian smuggled diesel, the Model Customs Collectorate Quetta foiled an attempt to smuggle Iranian origin diesel under the garb of documents/vouchers issued by M/s Pakistan State Oil.
According to details given by Ashraf Ali, Collector Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Quetta, that the Anti-Smuggling Cell Quetta aborted an attempt to smuggle Iranian origin diesel under the garb of documents/vouchers issued by M/s PSO, Kemari Terminal, Karachi, for supply of PMG (Premium Motor Gasoline) from the PSO loading point, Kemari Karachi, to Quetta.
He told CT that the Anti-Smuggling staff of the Collecotrate Quetta intercepted an Isuzu Oil Tanker bearing registration No: TTB-061 at Lakpass check-post Quetta. The driver of the said oil tanker provided Transshipment Advice bearing No. 4907471 against Delivery No. 887956369 dated 07.12.2017 issued by M/s PSO Karachi according to which 15,000 liters of PMG were loaded in the said oil tanker from (1040) Kemari Terminal-“A” bound for Quetta.
Ashraf Ali further told CT that the seals fixed at exit points of the tanker were found intact and punched. However, seals of the upper chambers were found loosely fixed with ordinary wires without punching. Upon examination, 15,000 liters of Iranian origin diesel was found filled in the said oil tanker instead of the PMG.
The customs staff has impounded the smuggling diesel and oil tanker under the Customs Act-1969.
