ASO Mianwali seizes smuggled Iranian tiles

FAISALABAD: The Mianwali Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has confiscated Iranian origin ceramic tiles. The market value of seized tiles are Rs 3.1 million and the tiles were being transported from Peshawar to Quetta.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Model Customs Collectorate (MCC), Faisalabad Dr Zulafqar Ali Chaudhry received a credible regarding smuggling of tiles.

He immediately forms a team comprising Safdar Ali (inspector), Muhammad Nazim,  Shamshair Hussain,(UDC ), and with Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Ameen Bhatti, Said Rasool and Faiz Ahmad (Sepoys ).

The ASO intercepted a Hino truck bearing registration No. TAF-186 near Musa Khail Pindi Road, District Mainwali and seized Iranian made ceramic tiles. The ASO team asked its driver who was identified as Ali Ahmad son of Panal Khan to produce legal documents regarding possession of tiles but he failed to show the documents. After his failure, the ASO team seized the truck and registered a case against the accused person.
