KARACHI: The authorities concerned of Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) of Customs Intelligence are busy in making seizure report against the management of Imtiaz Super Store in its alleged involvement in importing smuggled soaps and other toileteers.
The sources informed Customs Today that the ASO authorities while following the directives of Director Customs Intelligence Asif Marghoob Siddiqui have widen the investigation ambit and started to collect more evidences against the management of Imtiaz Super Store in order to determine the volume of smuggled goods and its estimated cost.
As many as 515 cartons of Lux soaps have been recovered and seized during the raid at Imtiaz Super Store-North Nazimabad Branch.
“The seized goods having seal of Afghan Transit Trade (ATT) which means that the goods were smuggled through Transit Trade route and comes in the country without paying legitimate taxes”, sources added.
The seizure report of the case would be prepared in the running week after thorough investigation.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) of the Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation on Monday recovered smuggled soaps, toileteers and cosmetics products during a raid at “Imtiaz Super Store” located at North Nazimabad area.
