KARACHI: The Customs Preventive’s Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized large quantity of betel nuts worth Rs3.13 million.
Information was received through Collector Preventive Dr Iftikhar that attempt would be made to transport betel nut into the city. Deputy Collector Mohammad Faisal tightened the vigilance and during the course a suspected truck was intercepted near Ghani Chowrangi area.
The detailed examination of the vehicle found bags of betel nuts hidden under the bags of dry coriander seeds. The goods have been seized and investigations are under way.
