Quetta Customs seizes betel nuts worth Rs50m

QUETTA: The Customs authorities in Quetta have seized betel nuts worth Rs50 million during different operations.

The Customs staff intercepted a bowser (Capsule) bearing Reg: No. TLG-453 at Lakpass Check Post. However, the driver instead of parking vehicle accelerated the vehicle and at few distance he stopped the vehicle and managed to flee. Checking resulted in recovery of large quantity of nuts. Meanwhile, at Baleli Check Posts/ Darakhsha Bolan and Mobile Squads at Quetta Chamman road also recovered tons of betel nuts. The worth of the said seized goods are around Rs50 million.
