ASO recovers embroidery machine worth Rs 1.5m

FAISALABAD: Customs anti-smuggling organization (ASO) seized smuggled old and used computerized embroidery machine worth worth Rs 1.5 million.

Sources told Customs Today that additional collector Muhammad Saeed Asad, on a tip-off that an embroidery machine is being transported from Lahore to Faisalabad without payment of duty and taxes, .formed a team comprising Saeed Akhtar Joiya (Superintendent), Khalid Akhtar Noor, Masood Saeed Chohan, Safdar Ali (inspectors), Muhammad Khalid, Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Naeem, Muhammad Javed, Naeemullah (sepoys).

The ASO team raided near Gattwala Toll Plaza Sheikhupura Road and seized the embroidery machine. The ASO team asked accusedperson who were identified as Anjum Abid son of Shabir Hussain  to produce legal documents regarding possession of embroidery machine, but he failed to provide any relevant documents.

The ASO team seized the embroidery machine and forwarded the case to customs adjudication for further proceedings.
