ISLAMABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO), Dera Ismail Khan (D.I. Khan) has impounded a truck laden with smuggled goods worth of Rs 7.5 million during an information-based operation.
Assistant Collector Muhammad Ali Asad told Customs Today that a truck, which was going to Bannu via Tank, when it was intercepted by D.I. Khan ASO officials. The truck was apparently loaded with local wood, he added.
The anti-smuggling staff searched the truck and recovered more than 7,500 yards of cloth, 3,500 kilogram of tea, tyers and batteries that were being smuggled in guise of local wood, he informed.
The assistant collector further said that this was information-based operation; the information was received from an informer of the Pakistan Customs.
